I pitched my easel in Channel Islands this past weekend. It was not the group of 8 islands located off the coast of California, but the mainland harbor where I painted en plein air.
Yachts and other sailing vessels lined the causeways, making for a scenic place to paint. But I was there for more than the scenery. I wanted to share the gospel with the people who lived in the area. The sky turned from blue to overcast within the hour I was there. There were intermittent sprinkles also, but I continued to paint.
Several people passed by and greeted me, but unfortunately, none came close enough to start a conversation.
